Two brothers who were teaching long before they were programming

DOCERO did not begin with a business idea. It began with two brothers giving private lessons at fifteen and discovering that helping other people achieve their goals was what they wanted to do for the rest of their lives.

Since then, only the tools have changed: first the blackboard, then the bench, later the data and today artificial intelligence as well.

Our story

A coherent path

Every stage of our journey points in the same direction: people, sport, education and engineering. DOCERO is the point where they all meet.

The beginnings
At fifteen we started giving private lessons out of financial necessity.
The discovery
We soon discovered that we loved helping other people achieve their goals. That feeling never changed: only the tools did.
Basketball
Teaching evolved naturally into basketball coaching: every player learns, progresses and needs to be supported in a different way.
Refereeing and administration
We experienced refereeing and sports administration from within: rules, objectivity and decisions under pressure.
Engineering
In parallel, we built careers as data engineers, designing data platforms and capabilities for companies.
University teaching
Later we became university lecturers in technical engineering subjects.
2022
We founded Vallekas Basket to take the next step: not just coaching, but building a serious sports structure.
Today
DOCERO brings all those paths together: people, sport, education, engineering and applied research.

Javier Sánchez Rueda

Co-founder of DOCERO. Data engineer, university lecturer and president of Vallekas Basket.

Close to nine years of experience in data engineering, with projects on AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
Built Twenix's data department and data platform, later used across the company's departments, and subsequently built data capabilities at IGNIS.
Lecturer at CUNEF in technical engineering subjects: databases, data engineering and machine learning.
Lecturer on the Máster de Formación Permanente en Inteligencia Artificial Aplicada al Deporte (lifelong learning master's programme in Artificial Intelligence Applied to Sport) at the Universidad Europea.
Master's thesis supervisor at the Universidad Europea and on the Máster Universitario en Inteligencia Artificial (official master's degree in Artificial Intelligence) at UNIR.
Around twelve years as a basketball coach; referee from 2017 to 2025.
Founder and president of Vallekas Basket since 2022.

03The name

Why we are called DOCERO

The name is inspired by docere, to teach in Latin. Teaching was the first thing we did, and it remains at the centre of everything we build.

We come from classrooms, courts, changing rooms, scorers' tables, club offices and data departments. We too were given opportunities when we did not yet stand out, and we have not forgotten it: that is why we also build for those who are just starting.

We want DOCERO to keep those values whatever its size.
